Can I see the whole backyard before it is built?

Yes. Every element goes into the 3D design, so you see the finished backyard, pool included, before the first shovel.

Is it cheaper to build it all at once?

Usually. Gas, electric and drainage go in once, before pavers go down, with one permit set and one crew instead of several contractors working around each other.
